Question: ‘What I Value?

What do you Value? Think about it…… What do you spend most of your time thinking about? It may be good or bad, however that is what you think of and value.

What you value affects everything and may even go against your goals/desires. For example you could desire to go on a vacation to a hot beach destination. Strolling on the beach, wearing your favourite bikini or shorts, pausing to listen and watch the waves as the sun gleams on your body. However you could value what people think of you on the beach in your bikini or shorts. You may think that they see you as unfit/unpleasant. Thinking that you may have to delay booking you vacation until you get that ‘Summer Body’.

Do you have a goal, yet value the opinions of others? We may be limiting our own desires by the value we put on ourselves. Believing that we can not achieve? Have you wanted to apply for that job, but not applied because you think your not worthy of that position?

Really think about what you value …. i.e, assume. Question it! Change it

Your values should match your desires/goals. Value what is important to YOU, what will help YOU to grow. Value what YOU can contribute to your community.

Any value that hinders you, get rid of. This will take sometime but can be done with determination. However phase 1 is to explore and question ‘What do YOU Value?’ I will write a blog on how get to rid of negative values.

A Great De-Stress Activity with my Dog

Maybe I take my little dog, Chico for granted? He often lie’s down staring at me as I selfishly get on with my tasks. He sure does enjoy a walk and to be honest; so do I. When we are about to leave the house I grab his lead and collar and he goes crazy. Breathing heavy and running around my feet.

I sit calmly and wait for him to calm down. He knows he needs to sit still or I wont put his collar/lead on. As soon as I am out I feel great, I can feel his happy energy and we start to walk together. I look down at his little brown body and his happy walk and I feel happy. My lifestyle is really busy so I don’t get to take him out for walks as often as I would like. But walking with him is a great stress buster.

It doesn’t matter where we go, we are a team and together. I enjoy taking him to Sandwell Valley Country Park. Its beautiful there. I block an negative thoughts, I don’t think about work or what I should of done. Rather I’m in the moment, enjoying the environment and the company of Chico. I often walk by the lakes and listen to the birds and the branches on the trees swaying in the wind. When I walk by the lake I usually see mostly the swans gliding along the water with the Canadian Geese, the Lilly’s. Sandwell Valley Country Park is bigger than most people think. Yes sure there’s the children parks but there’s more to area than that. They have tennis courts, golf, mini golf, outside gym, farm and some great walks. Chico and I love it there, you can be with the crowd or walk down a hidden path and be completely on your own.

If you live close to West Brromwich and are looking for somewhere to destress, walk your dog or take your children I recommend Sandwell Valley Country Park(AKA Dartmouth Park), Salters Lane, West Bromwich, B71 4BG. If not may be another park nearer to you. There’s no point stressing to find Sandwell valley 🙂

Plan to Make a Change

Why is it that when you feel really strongly about doing something; that somehow you talk yourself out of it? Most nights I sit down and think “right, tomorrow I am going to ……… I know I don’t like doing it; but after I will be one step closer to…… “.

I often think of my fitness or nutrition goals or simply something at work. I am really motivated to make a change. Then when it comes to putting my plan in to action I back-down. Then I feel fed up with myself.

Why do we do this? Thinking of a simple task to do; may be the problem. We need to consider the bigger picture. What will we achieve by our actions? What made you want to plan the change? For me, I know that if I did stick to my healthy eating that I would be closer to my ideal weight, energy levels etc. I feel really strongly about this, so it motivates me. Especially if my goal is specific. Specific enough to visualise. So now I say to myself “I want to eat healthy to keep a consistent level of energy and to reduce my fat. I would like to weigh 7 pounds lighter in 12 weeks. Then I can fit in to this dress”.

Now this will motivate me not to eat that doughnut. I have a Plan, a REAL Plan. I know what I want to achieve and by when. I know that my actions will either Make or Hinder my goal.

Why wait? Nothing will be any different. How long have you been thinking of doing something different? There will always be something blocking your potential, its up to you to decide when you are taking control of your like. This is the youngest you we will ever be… Make the change NOW!
